- assess, diagnose and treat patients and clients
- care for patients and clients in their home, a hospital, clinic or emergency
- rehabilitate people who have specific injuries or disorders (for example, difficulty with speech or movement)
- care for and maintain hospital equipment
- help people to prevent injuries and maintain their health
- work in a laboratory or do research.
Health services may involve working in the community, hospitals or clinics, and providing alternative and holistic therapies, as well as conventional treatments.
