Career Progression

Once initial training has been completed, additional training in specialist areas is usually available in the major hospitals. This includes electrophysiology, paediatrics, and device technology (pacemakers and ICDs). The training structure and timeframe varies between departments. Some cardiac physiologists move on to become industry sales representatives or progress into management roles.
